Sanlamn Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism.
A long and fruitful association with Sanlam

In the past two decades Sanlam had demutualised then listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and moved beyond South Africa’s borders. It also completed the most successful empowerment deal in African history and merged with Saham Finances to give it a footprint in 33 countries across the continent.

In 2018, the year of their centenary, they needed a team that could capture that story and turn it into a documentary.

They chose frayintermedia, so we developed a methodology that would dig deep into Sanlam’s archives and blend its historical footage seamlessly with modern interviews with some of Africa’s most important executives.

The result was a TV length documentary that showed the company and its great people over the years, demonstrating what it takes to move from a small insurer to a world-class giant.

The documentary was published on Sanlam’s social media platforms to a audience of 130 000 followers, and Sanlam’s internal communications platforms for its more than 20 000 employees.

We’re constantly working at improving our clients visibility which means working closely in a strategic manner
