At frayintermedia, we live for stories that touch hearts, open minds, and bring change. Today, we have a beautiful story of our own to share.
We are proud to announce that Rebaona Modutwane, our Content Producer, has been selected as a fellow for CNN Academy’s “Voices From The South: Storytelling for Impact” programme. This is a remarkable achievement, as Rebaona was chosen from 10,800 applicants across 129 countries.

This special programme, supported by the Gates Foundation, is designed to empower young storytellers from the Global South with the skills they need to tell powerful stories. It is a unique opportunity for voices that are often unheard to be shared with the world.
Rebaona has been selected for the first phase of the programme, where she will take part in virtual training and complete 12 courses to strengthen her storytelling skills. Through this, she will deepen her understanding of global issues, especially those affecting the Global South, and learn how to report in ways that make a real impact. This opportunity will allow her to sharpen her journalism skills while telling stories that uplift underrepresented voices.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to grow and learn, and to come back and contribute the skills and knowledge I will gain through this programme to frayintermedia. As a storyteller, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I am going to make every minute count” said Rebaona.
At frayintermedia, we know that stories told with passion and honesty can change the world. Rebaona’s selection is not only a personal win for her but a proud moment for all of us who believe in the power of African stories. We know she will bring back fresh ideas and skills that will help us continue to tell stories that matter and inspire change across Africa.
Congratulations, Rebaona! We are so proud of you and look forward to seeing the stories you will tell and the lives you will impact through this journey.
